Leveraging Independent Events to Raise More Money

A joint study by Blackbaud and Event 360 explores strategies to maximize the ROI of investing in the business processes, technical infrastructure and relationship management related to independent events.

In this teleconference, Blackbaud's Mark Davis provides insights from that study and Sarah Hall of the Canadian Cancer Society describes the BC/Yukon division's independent fundraising event program.

Speaker Profiles: Mark Davis is Director of Technical Solutions for the Blackbaud Internet Solutions Division. He has worked directly with many of the largest nonprofits in the industry, such as American Heart Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Arthritis Foundation, helping to deploy online fundraising solutions. As one of the original architects of Friends Asking Friends technology, he has actively participated in the development of the Blackbaud Sphere™ product. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Duke University and a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University.

Sarah Hall is the Online Giving Specialist for the Canadian Cancer Society’s BC and Yukon Division where she oversees all aspects of the organization’s online fundraising presence. Working closely with the revenue development, information technology, and marketing communications teams, she helps develop the structure and strategy for CCS’s online success and is responsible for the coordination and creation of more than 70 fundraising websites across six revenue streams for the organization. Sarah received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Toronto and a certificate in web technologies from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
